They understand that our reputation is only as good as their concern. Their longevity displays how seriously they take that commitment. Their experience will make your event the best it can be.

The McBride family consists of a core group of people that will enable you to have the event that you deserve. This core group currently consists of:

Account Management Team

Doug Purslow, Vice President, has dedicated over 30 years to helping events be successful. He started out as an installer, learning his craft from PJ(Pat)McBride himself, to today being one of the most respected individuals in the event industry . Always available to his customers, as you would expect, but also available to answer our competitors questions as he strives to make our industry safer and respected.

Steve Lenci started his career as a carpet installer and eventually wound up in sales working for a Long Island based carpet company. In 1993 he made a career move, choosing to work in the growing and ever changing event tent rental arena. His outgoing personality and dedication to the end user makes him a perfect match for our event customers. Steve has the ability to put anyone at ease, helping to reduce your stress load and like all of us, is dedicated to making your event the event you envision. Steve always goes that extra mile.

Patrice Thomas “the first voice of tented events”.  First impressions are so important and when you call P.J. McBride, the first person you encounter is Patrice.  Patrice is a professional at her job and a caring individual when it comes to the success of your event.  From soothing nervous brides to difficult code officials no one is better than Patrice.  Originally from Trinidad where her father worked for the British Government, Patrice joined us in 1990 and has been helping make every event a memorable one. If all you do is call Patrice to say hello, she can help you have a better day.  Her motto, “Take five minutes, sit down, relax and have a cup of tea.”

Production Team

Scott Hogan, Logistics, started at P.J. McBride in 1990 as a summer employee.  Scott’s dedication to the trade has created one of the most knowledgeable tent production supervisors today. He has the skill to install any product available for rent anywhere in this country and has traveled as far away as Puerto Rico to install Clear Spans. He is welcome on any tent rental company’s jobsite and is always ready to pitch in with a solution.  Many of the top tent manufacturers look to Scott to help their clients with difficult installation and logistical demands.  Scott now runs our logistics department. He is the person with the answers as to when your event will be installed and what crew will be responsible. Scott will make sure everything gets done right and on time, no matter what obstacles we may encounter.

Bob Purslow, Quality Control, has been part of the McBride Tent family since 1981. He became a production supervisor in 1989 responsible for overseeing some of our largest events. He brought the knowledge of the type of quality it takes to impress a customer when he became our quality control and overall warehouse supervisor. Overseeing a staff of 5 men dedicated to washing tents in our state of the art washing machine to overseeing the organization of our facility, he and his staff’s dedication and pride in their work ensures that the rental equipment is top of the line.

Sal Abbamonte, Senior Production Supervisor, is a multi-decade veteran with P.J. McBride Inc. Starting out as an installer Sal has become one of the most experienced  yet easy going supervisors  in the business.  No installation is too large or complex for Sal’s skill set and his calm demeanor helps the client relax and enjoy.  His dedication and attention to detail to make your event perfect is unmatched no matter what Mother Nature throws his way.   From Clear Spans to traditional pole tents there is not a tent made that he can’t install.

Wendell Hart, Lead Man, started at P.J. McBride Inc. in 1990. Wendell has the experience it takes to install any tent we rent and then some.  A tireless work ethic has made him an event planner’s favorite in the NY Metro area. He loves what he does and it shows.  He does not stop till the I’s are dotted and the T’s crossed. Outgoing and always happy, Wendell adds joy to any event he works at.

Kevin McBride has been with the P.J. McBride Inc. since its inception in 1975.  Kevin is a leader in the tent rental community. He is a former Chairperson of the IFAI Tent Rental Division, Chairperson of the Education Committee, a co-contributor to the book, The Safe Installation of Tents, a member of the committee that developed the guidelines for safe staking techniques and a winner of the prestigious Wodetzki Award, (Industrial Fabric Association International).   Kevin has also contributed to numerous trade publications and is a constant voice in trying to make our industry safe and reliable. Although more in the background these days, from logistics and warehouse management to sales, he makes it easier for us to make your event the memory you deserve it to be.

These are just some of the people that have helped make us one of NY Metro’s outstanding Event Tent Rental Companies. We staff 40 team members at the height of our season. They average 8 years of experience. Experience your event needs. We realized long ago that it’s not always about the equipment or the money, most of the time it is about the people you will be relying on to create a memory.  In our industry employees frequently come and go, yet we keep our core people.
