OUR HISTORY

Patrick McBride, after leaving the Navy in 1947 joined A-1 Service Company. A-1 was a general rental company serving the New York market.

In the early 1950's, they began to specialize in the party equipment and tent rental business. Their growth had them follow the social circuit from Chicago to Palm Beach, renting tents to famous families for their daughters' debutante balls and weddings. In the mid '50's they experimented with an all Pink tent (in lieu of the traditional khaki or green and white striped) which helped propel them even further into the limelight. In the late '50's and early '60's Patrick won many IFAI awards of excellence.

In 1966 A-1 was purchased by HDO. Productions and Patrick continued to travel around the country with the focus now on corporate clients such as Budweiser, Ford and Dodge to name a few.

In 1975 , beginning with a few small tents and with the assistance of his son Kevin, Patrick decided to form P.J. McBRIDE, INC. to better service the NY Metro area P.J. McBRIDE, INC. became one of the New York Metro area's best known tent companies. Most of our work consists of going from Montauk to Manhattan but we have been as far as Saudi Arabia and Morocco. We are proud of our very experienced staff as we continue to win IFAI awards of excellence in the tent industry. We recently provided the clear top Anchor Span used by Donna Karan for the September 1999 fashion show in Central Park.

As we enter the 21st Century we look forward to providing tents to a diverse group of clients but mostly toward providing every client with quality and value for their event.
